| The works, which begin on Monday, June 22, will only affect the opening of the bridge over the canal at 12 noon | The San Javier City Council will relocate the fiber optic network cable that crosses the Estacio channel, in La Manga del Mar Menor, which was affected by sea currents as a result of recent storms.
It is the submarine cable that enables communication between the bridge abutments and that guarantees the correct operation of the drawbridge over the canal. The works, which have a budget of 28,282 euros, will begin on June 22 with an approximate duration of 2 days and will affect the opening of the bridge at 12 noon, which will not be carried out, while the rest of the openings will be carried out in its usual schedule every two hours.
The works, which will be carried out by specialized divers, consist of the underwater ballasting of the existing cable through the placement of the corresponding ballasts that anchor the cable on the seabed of the canal.
