The mayor, José Miguel Luengo and the councilor for Social Rights, Estíbaliz Masegosa received yesterday at the San Javier City Council the new president of AFEMAR, José Ramón Saéz, who replaces Juana María Romero at the head of the Association of Relatives and People with Mental Illness and TEA of the Mar Menor region.
José Ramón Sáez was accompanied by the vice president, José Gómez and the director of the association, Raúl Sáez, who continue in a board of directors in which there have been hardly any changes. The new president of AFEMAR, José Ramón Sáez announced, during the meeting, that among the new challenges of the current board of directors is that of launching the recently launched qualification as a training entity by the SEF, the Employment and Training Service.
Currently, efforts are focused on alleviating the effects of the pandemic in their daily activities through their Day Center and the Child-Youth Service, for less than 21 years, in which they serve about 60 people, including adults and children. The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo congratulated the new president who wished him success in his work at the head of "this association so useful and necessary in the region," and recalled the previous president, Juan María Romero, whom he thanked for her work at the head of the entity.
José Miguel Luengo reiterated the collaboration commitment of the San Javier City Council, which has had an economic collaboration agreement with the association for years.
