The young Sanjaviereño businessman, Javier Marín Mercader, makes his successful debut as an author in the detective genre Mayor José Miguel Luengo and the Councilor for Culture, David Martínez have received Javier Marín today, on the occasion of the publication of his first novel "Deadly Board" (Marco Duarte Series 1), a police thriller with which this young businessman from Sanjaviere debuts as an author in his favorite reading genre.
The story, which he wrote almost in secret for a year, tells the story of a serial killer who brings his macabre game board to real life, causing terror in an imaginary city where a series of ritual crimes take place that will put in check to Marco Duarte and his team, in charge of stopping the escalation of deaths that the city is experiencing. Javier Marín links short and agile chapters creating an almost cinematic language with which he maintains the suspense that captures the reader from the beginning.
This is demonstrated by the reviews that his book has aroused through Amazon where Javier Marín has self-published and marketed his book, which at the moment has only given him joy.
Since it went on sale on June 16, it has managed to sell some 350 copies and more than 60 favorable reviews from its readers who have reached through word of mouth as it is a new and unknown author and not having the endorsement of a publisher. The good reception of his first book has encouraged him to move forward in a second installment that he already has underway and that he hopes will see the light of day in December 2020, as he announced to his readers who attended the recent presentation of his book in the municipal library of San Javier.
Author of some short story that has never seen the light, Javier Marín confesses himself an inveterate reader of the suspense genre with Agatha Christie as a reference since his childhood and follower of authors such as Douglas Preston, Jeffery Deaver and Stephen King, among others.
