The contest, aimed at young people between 12 and 18 years of age, aims to reveal the point of view of young people in particular about new addictions such as gambling or new technologies that are affecting the younger population. The councilor for Social Rights, Estíbaliz Masegosa, the psychologist of the council, José Tortosa and Santiago Montealegre from the AIKE Mar Menor association presented this morning the audiovisual creation contest that was born marked by the pandemic as a substitute for the cycle "Cinema and Education in Values "suspended for sanitary measures.
"We want young people to be an active part in giving visibility to the problem of these new addictions that affect them especially," said councilor Estíbaliz Masegosa who called for participation among young people "true translators of reality" said José Tortosa . Santiago Montealegre pointed out that the cultural association AIKE Mar Menor will offer technical support and advice to young people on how to make short films with their mobile phones, for which they have already posted a downloadable manual on the blog of the contest with artistic and technical training on audiovisual productions. In the contest it will have two prizes, one of 200 euros for young people between 12 and 15 years old and another of 300 for young people between 16 and 18 years of age.
Young residents of San Javier may participate individually or in a group of a maximum of 4 members.
The jury will be made up of a representative from each of the convening councils and from AIKE Mar Menor.
The short can only be recorded with a mobile phone, although external tools can be used in the editing.
The maximum duration will be 5 minutes with a maximum size of 20 megabytes.
The deadline for submission of works opens on October 26 and will close on December 10.
