| The mayor, José Miguel Luengo and the priest Juan Rosique sign a collaboration agreement against social exclusion in the municipality | The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo and the parish priest of Santiago de la Ribera, Juan Rosique have today signed the renewal of a collaboration agreement through which the City Council will contribute a total of 26,000 euros to Cáritas Santiago de la Ribera.The municipal contribution aims to promote the social inclusion of groups at risk or social exclusion in the municipality of San Javier.The pandemic has set the pace of Caritas activity in recent months, admitted the parish priest, Juan Rosique, who warns of a significant upturn in the demand for help and a new profile among users who come to Caritas for the first time after having lost their job or not making ends meet with the income they receive.The mayor of San Javier thanked Caritas for the work and highlighted the good coordination with the City Council through the Department of Social Rights to improve as much as possible the mechanisms to help people who need it most.
