| The works have begun with the demolitions that relieve the park of cement and concrete for its new design.
At the beginning of the year the construction of the winter auditorium will begin on part of the current civic center | Mayor José Miguel Luengo and the Councilor for Public Services, María Dolores Martínez visited today the remodeling works of the Almansa Park that "are progressing at a good pace." The visit has coincided with that of the architects authors of the project, Pau Batalla and Miguel Martínez, who weekly supervise the development of the works that have begun with the demolition of all the cement and concrete existing inside the enclosure to proceed with the drawing of the new park. Pau Batalla, who was satisfied with the pace of the works, which will begin 20 days ago with an execution period of 18 months, explained that along with the demolitions, some plant transplants have also been started that will be completed with the planting in the next weeks of at least 200 new pine trees that will increase the tree mass of the park. The entrance arcade along Aviacion Avenue, the fountain in front of the civic center, both made of cement, the children's area, the park next to Garroferos street, as well as sidewalks and roads have already been dismantled in the absence of the last meters of paving that surround the auditorium.
After this first phase, which includes the provision of the park's urban services, it is planned to begin, at the beginning of next year, with the construction of the winter auditorium and the remodeling of the civic center complex, explained the architect Pau Batalla. The Councilor for Public Services, María Dolores Martínez reported that everything is planned to advance the remodeling works of the summer auditorium, which will modify the entrance to the building and the cafeteria area, which will open to the park, as well as the urbanization of its surroundings so that it is ready for use next summer if sanitary conditions permit.
The rest of the park would remain closed to the public, as is currently the case, until the complete completion of the works. María Dolores Martínez also pointed out that all the furniture and usable material that has been removed from the park is being relocated to other areas of the municipality such as children's games, a plant or a metal structure pergola, among others.
The mayor, José Miguel Luengo highlighted the good progress of the works and the involvement of both the construction company and the architects and municipal technical staff so that the works are executed in the best conditions and can be available to the neighbors in the spring-summer 2022, as planned.
