The first two electric vehicle charging points in the municipality are part of the urban renewal work on Avenida Calderón de la Barca and Calle Andrés Baquero, one of the EDUSI's already completed works, along with others underway such as the renovation of the Parque Almansa, or Avenida Aviación Española, among others.
The mayor, José Miguel Luengo announced that these two electric charging points will be expanded with another 2 in Santiago de la Ribera and 2 in La Manga del Mar Menor, where the EDUSI of the regional government contemplates a third point. Luengo highlighted the importance of continuing to advance in this type of action that improves mobility and sustainability by promoting the use of electric vehicles and recalled the 75 percent discount applied by the San Javier City Council in the tax on mechanical traction vehicles for this type of vehicles.
He also pointed out that the source of the two recharging points comes from renewable energy by virtue of the contract signed by the city council for the supply of electrical lighting in the municipality.
