The San Javier City Council renews its collaboration with Cáritas Parroquial de San Javier through an annual contribution of 26,000 euros aimed at maintaining the work of helping and supporting families and people in need.
The mayor, José Miguel Luengo signed the agreement with the parish priest Juan Prieto that announced the launch of a campaign to collect food from the Parish.
The distribution of food is one of the main lines of help that Caritas maintains, which, through its volunteers and the professional work of a social worker, offers more general attention to the most disadvantaged population.
The last DANA considerably increased the demand for help in Cáritas, which now also appreciates the consequences of the epidemic, according to Juan Prieto. The mayor, José Miguel Luengo and the parish priest Juan Prieto also signed the renewal of the collaboration agreement between the San Javier City Council and the San Francisco Javier Parish for the maintenance and conservation of the Parish Museum.
The City Council contributes 12,500 euros per month to guarantee the public exhibition in the best conditions of the historical-artistic heritage owned by the Church to the public, as one of the cultural offerings of the municipality.
In this sense, the parish priest explained that a new museum program has begun with the remodeling of the rooms and a new exhibition of its most relevant pieces.
