Making visible the tragedy of gender violence and involving society in its eradication was the objective of the symbolic act held today at the gates of the San Javier City Hall where the mayor, José Miguel Luengo, has read the institutional manifesto of the Elimination Day of Violence against Women.
The event, which was attended by the Councilor for Women and Equal Opportunities, Ana Belén Martínez, and the attendance of several members of the municipal corporation, was held in front of a flower bed that remembered the 41 victims of gender violence.

Councilor Ana Belén Martínez pointed out the determination of her department to continue fighting against gender violence within the framework of the program "San Javier sums for equality" with which it is about joining all efforts and involving all of society "because We must all be necessary actors and an important part in this commitment to eradicate gender violence.
" Ana Belén Martínez highlighted the work of CAVI San Javier, both in attention to victims and in prevention and recalled the transversal philosophy of the program launched by the Department with which it is intended to reach the entire community. At the event, the winners of an ideas contest aimed at schoolchildren "Steps towards Equality" were announced, within the "San Javier sums for Equality" program, which were Lola Tárraga Garre from 2nd year of ESO and Samuel Peñalver Quiles from 2nd year of ESO, both from the "Sagrado Corazón" school in San Javier.
