The tomato will be the protagonist of the 1st Gastronomic Week that is celebrated from May 17 to 23, organized by the municipality's hospitality association, Hostesan with the collaboration of the San Javier Department of Commerce.

The councilor Héctor Verdú and the chef and president of Hostesan, Francesco Tancredi Leggio presented the initiative today in which 22 establishments from Santiago de la Ribera and San Javier participate, which will offer dishes, pinchos and cocktails with tomato as a prominent ingredient. The 1st Gastronomic Week will function as a route in which 17 bars and restaurants, 4 pubs and 1 cafeteria-confectionery will offer dishes at € 9, pinchos at € 4 or cocktails at € 4.50, in different preparations and textures with the that will try to take advantage of the star ingredient and surprise the customer.

Francesco Tancredi highlighted the high participation of establishments and was confident in the success of the initiative that will be repeated dedicated to new products. The Councilor for Commerce, Héctor Verdú invited the public to follow this gastronomic week, one of the first initiatives as a result of the work and collaboration of the San Javier City Council with the association of hoteliers with whom they are also working on a new campaign that will see the light of day next June, Verdú advanced.

Both the representative of the hoteliers and the mayor of Commerce, were confident that with the relevant health measures, this type of initiative will serve as a boost to the hospitality sector that has been particularly affected by the pandemic.
