Olympic canoeist David Cal surprised this morning in the recreation to the students of the "Fulgencio Ruiz" Santiago de la Ribera that surrounded interested to know every detail and admired by the closeness "of a world champion," as remembered proud of his visit to the center.
Accompanied by the mayors of Sports, Carlos Albaladejo and Education, Catalina Perez along with the school management and representatives of the Association of Mothers and Mothers of Students of artíficies school visit, along with the School of Piragüsimo UCAM Mar Menor David Cal children attended and took a group photo in the courtyard.
David Cal, who later met with a group of students in the school library with which talked about his sporting career, expressed his satisfaction for participating in such acts that aim at the promotion of grassroots sport, in this case canoeing.
The visit coincides with the period when the school students, as all schools in the municipality, discover canoeing through a program of School Sports, funded by the City of San Javier.
The mayor of Sports, Carlos Albaladejo said that in San Javier can not live with their backs to the water sports and thus encourage local practice through introductory courses during school hours in all schools in the municipality in which of course is included that of La Manga, although it is in the term of Cartagena.
Albaladejo thanked the presence once again of David Cal in the city because such actions grassroots sport so important that we give from the PDM is encouraged.
