More than 2,500 young scouts, aged between 6 and 21 years of age, throughout the Region of Murcia will participate next weekend in the FestiJorge 2016, held in San Javier and includes the celebration of the patron of Scouting, San Jorge, and 35 Regional Festival Festival of Song Scout 2016.
The mayor, José Miguel Luengo, the Councillor for Youth, Estíbaliz Masegosa, the president of the Scout Federation of Explorers of Murcia, Daniel Lopez, his vice president, Eduardo Noguera and the coordinator of the Scout group of San Javier Gines Soler presented today the event with which the local group also celebrates the centenary of its first creation in 1916.
The base camp, in which all participants will stay, it will locate in the municipal sports center of San Javier though planned activities will lead different parts of the population "so this weekend we can see San Javier" said mayor thanked the Scout Federation has entrusted San Javier to host this event.
The young scouts from 27 of the 30 existing in the region groupings, arrive early on Saturday and after the official opening of FestiJorge 16 to be held in the Plaza of Spain at 12: 30h.
will begin a program of activities which are divided by age groups in beavers, cubs, scouts, escultas, rovers and scouts, and venues such as sports, Plaza of Spain, the Almansa Park, and close to the sports facilities park.

35 Regional Festival of Song Scout 2016 with unpublished songs composed by the boys with scout theme, on the grounds of Road Safety Park, next to the sports center of San Javier will be held.
Sunday morning will continue with activities including scheduled cleaning of the beach of La Hita, for the older group, said Eduardo Noguera.
Gines Soler, coordinator of the Scout group of San Javier, welcomed the cooperation of the City of San Javier and recalled that his turn as hosts of the great regional meeting coincides with the centenary of the first creation of group of explorers of San Javier, what had knowledge through the municipal archivist who informed them of a document, dated November 1916, transferred to local newly created group in the municipality "which shows the collaboration that has always existed with the city".
With various intervals in history, the scout movement resurfaced in 1995 with 10 years of activity which also hosted in San Javier major regional events such as the festival of the song, holding San Jorge or the Olympics .
The current group was formed in 2008 and currently has 45 scouts of all ages.
Camping, hiking, and workshops, solidarity activities, fill its program of activities among which also highlights various actions in collaboration with various departments as Volunteer or Social Services, among others.
