Agents of the local police in San Javier instructed proceedings for attempted theft after surprising, at dawn yesterday, four men, aged between 34 and 21 years old and residents of Los Mateos, Cartagena, when allegedly tried to steal several sacks of peppers in a greenhouse Pozo field, near the hospital Los Arcos del Mar Menor Aledo.
The incident occurred at dawn after officers received a call at 23: 30h, a particular owner of greenhouses in that area, which identified a vehicle type van, doing strange maneuvers and turning to greenhouses the lights off.
Patrol Police, who was in the area, was presented three minutes later in the area where the car was spotted hanging around with the lights off, and proceeded to the identification of the occupants.
Meanwhile, the owner of the property discovered 32 sacks of peppers prepared on the outside of a greenhouse and several material damage, quantified at about 1,200 euros.
During the inspection of the vehicle, officers discovered within the same five bags identical to those waiting filled with peppers outside the greenhouse, and debris and dirt in the clothes of the vehicle occupants.
