Councillor for Social Services, Estíbaliz Masegosa yesterday handed diplomas training course for caregivers and relatives of people in situations of dependency in which 25 people participated.
The course was organized by the Department of Social Services in coordination with the Association of Friends and Relatives of Patients with Alzheimer's and other Dementias Neurodegenerative of Cartagena and Comarcal (AFAL) aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of family and caregivers dependent persons in relation to aging and disability to enable them meet the challenges that this process occurs in the family.
The course, held during the month of April with sessions one afternoon a week, was conducted by a social worker, a neuropsychologist, a nurse and physiotherapist, professional all of AFAL that have addressed related to technical and social aid contained, cognitive symptoms in the elderly, prevention and basic nursing care and prevention and slowing of physical symptoms.
