The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo and the Councillor for Tourism, Trade and Employment, Antonio Martinez met today in the city of San Javier with the Director of Operations Institutions in Spain Carrefour, David Martin, on the occasion of the next implementation of the chain in the Dos Mares shopping center, following the purchase by Carrefour hypermarket Eroski San Javier along with 35 other centers of the Spanish chain in the rest of the country.
After the meeting, José Miguel Luengo said the representative of Carrefour conveyed the continuing commitment of workers and the intention of the new company to give a boost to the hypermarket generating more supply and more jobs.
In this sense, the mayor asked the collaboration with the Local Development Agency, through its employment, to prioritize, to the extent possible, local hiring, and their participation in training courses.
It also pledged to speed up Luengo as administrative procedures that are followed in the City of San Javier motivated by the change from one firm to another so as not to interfere in the running of the hypermarket possible.
The mayor asked the head of Carrefour a meeting between the heads of the Carrefour Solidarity Foundation Social Services City of San Javier to study how it could establish a line of cooperation with the municipality Foundation.
Finally, the mayor of San Javier welcomed and appreciated the confidence in the municipality of San Javier to the distribution chain "that adds and enriches the fabric of San Javier"
