Colon Santiago de la Ribera promenade hosts from today until Sunday 12 June the Second Week of Mobility and inclusive Sport, organized Ortepedia Los Arcos and the Sports Federation of Physically Handicapped Murcia, with the collaboration of City of San Javier.
The initiative aims to show all the resources that allow the practice of any sport to people with physical disabilities and promote sport among these people, explained Alejandro Amat, Orthopedics los Arcos, and the president of the Federation, Ascension Hernandez, organizers event.
Until Sunday 12 June, Paseo Colon, in front of Los Arcos, will be the basis of an inclusive sports program, with morning and afternoon, where they can engage people with and without physical disabilities, which inlcudes canoeing and sailing adapted, basketball, athletics, wheelchair slalom, tandem, hand bike, football for blind people, water aerobics and even jet skis.
II Mobility Week and Inclusive Sport began with a demonstration of Equestrian Club "Maria Luisa" Lorquí, which has long trains children with Down syndrome, aiming beyond the therapeutic, to turn them into Paralympians, explained his monitor that led three young riders in a show horse.
The inauguration was attended by the Deputy Mayor, Teresa Foncuberta, the Councillor for Equality, Estíbaliz Masegosa and other members of the municipal corporation, which commended the organizers for the initiative.
Foncuberta noted that Mobility Week talk of inclusive sport "because it is so include each with its capabilities the best."
Alejandro Amat thanked the collaboration of Villaescusa Sport, Fresh Supermarkets Me, and Sunrise Medical, and recalled that on Sunday 12 at the close of the activity will be a free rice on the beach from 14: 00h.
Attendance and participation in any sports activities is free.
