Sculpture Nicholas of Maya presiding over the entrance of the City of San Javier exhibits today a plaque that identifies the author and the work itself, called "Profile of a land" made "in recognition of all its citizens".
Maya Nicholas himself, accompanied by the mayor, José Miguel Luengo and the Councillor for Culture, David Martinez has placed the plaque, which has been absent since its inauguration in 2007, which allows proper identification to be provided.
Nicholas of Maya, who has just designed, this year's poster Festival of Theater, Music and Dance in San Javier, carried out the work, which emerges from the floor of the Town Hall in seven different types of wood perfectly cohesive.
The work, ethereal despite its volume, has a strong symbolic meaning related to the location in the center of a town hall.
View front and back simulates a tree that grows in the land of all, while on the sides with two profiles a silhouette looks: the exterior of man and woman inside.
The silhouette is crossed by wooden paddles also they simulate the branches that grow to as may be mutually tree.
As oars, incorporating the name of each of the districts of the municipality, they symbolize the necessary participation of all citizens in the common cause.
