Jazz San Javier opens its free concerts outside the auditorium of Almansa Park with a performance by one of the young guitarists Americans most acclaimed, Solomon Hicks, known to his fans as "King Solomon" or "East Montgomery" referring to the legendary Wes Montgomery .
At 21 accumulates a remarkable musical career since he started playing 13 years at the Cotton Club, his native Harlem, leading a band of 13 musicians and just a year later he published his first album "Embryonic" with the All Star Band of the Cotton Club.
Guitarist, singer, and acclaimed entertainer, Solomon Hicks was discovered as an excellent composer on his second CD, which published 18 years, "Carrying on the Torch of the Blues," which also acts as arranger.
Its special virtuosity on the guitar reaches various genres shining equally in jazz, blues, gospel, R & B, funk, rock and classical guitar.
Despite his youth he has worked and performed with artists such as Tony Bennett, Jon Hendricks, The BB King Blues Band and Elvin Bishop, among many others, and has been compared to great guitarists like George Benson, BB King, and Wes Montgomery.
Solomon Hicks has extensive technical training that began with six years, becoming a child prodigy as an instrumentalist, and enriched with the passion that his family learned transmit for good music.
The result is a marvelous musician of eclectic taste, great connoisseur of African American musical legacy, which explains his passion for the blues through the discovery of the energy generated musicians like Buddy Guy and Freddie King to listening as a child.
Jazz concert in San Javier will be accompanied by Nielsen Judson Hammond B3 organ, Kirk Yano on bass, and Andrew Atkinson on drums.
