Zenet, accompanied by some of the best jazz musicians of the Spanish scene and legendary jazz fusion band Spyro Gyra, disembarking in San Javier Jazz in one of the stellar night of the festival
The Malaga-born vocalist Toni Zenet, creator of a unique sound that includes song, Cuban son, tango, bolero, bossa nova and jazz stars in the first evening concert at Jazz San Javier in which he will be surrounded by great jazz musicians, common in the universe Zenet, as the Cuban pianist Pepe Rivero, and the brilliant guitarist José Taboada, along with five other great musicians.
Although it started in a funky flamenco band, Toni Zenet was unveiled in music with "The Seas of China" in 2008, record that he received the Music Award for Best New Artist.
It was followed by "All streets" and "any explanation", with a musical universe enriched by the beautiful lyrics of poet Javier Laguna sung with the raspy voice of Toni Zenet was consolidated.
Zenet has combined his acting career working with directors like Juan Antonio Bardem in "The Young Picasso" and Pedro Olea in "You will die in Chafarinas", among many others, with his musical career which again give new impetus with new album, "If it should happen", which is scheduled for mid-September.
In his new job again collaborated with lyricist Javier Laguna and has the produccción Carlos Narea, habitual in the productions of Luz Casal, Joaquin Sabina and Miguel Rios, among others, and with his usual musicians José Taboada, Manuel Machado, Moses Porro, ÖveLarsson, Raul Marquez and Pepe Rivero, who also accompany you on your presentation at Jazz San Javier.
The second part of the evening is dedicated to one of the groups most admired jazz world fusion, Spyro Gyra, a legendary band, which since its inception in 1977 has released 34 albums and sold eleven million albums.
Spyro Gyra is considered an essential reference in the field of fusion, with a characteristic sound that mixes rhythms and diverse backgrounds, the treasured constant nominations for Grammy as best band jazz fusion albums as famous as "Catching the Sun "or" Acces All Areas "which along with" Carnival "two albums were very celebrated in Spain.
Spyro Gyra back eight years later to Jazz San Javier with a repertoire filled with classics and three new albums released since then, with saxophonist and co-founder of the group, Jay Beckenstein following the front of the band along with other original members of the group as tom Schuman, keyboards and guitar Julio Fernández, who joined Scott Ambush electric bass and more recently Lee Pearson on drums.
