The album, recorded live in Seville, brings a new musical vision of gender based on flamenco styles in an innovative approach to jazz with which they have had a tremendous reception in European scenarios that have gone on the tour now Jazz San Javier brings.
Dorantes and Renaud Garcia Fons, who had already worked together on the show "Flamenco Chords" at the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla in 2014, add their enormous talents again in an album that highlights the depth of feeling of Dorantes, belonging to a family of great flamenco tradition, and nephew of El Lebrijano, and a deep academic background he shares with Renaud known as "Paganini of the double bass" for his virtuosity and sound like a viola bow.
Dorantes, which has said it is the flamenco piano what Paco de Lucía on guitar, merges its traditional roots with an open, contemporary and virtuoso in his own style, multiawarded and admired stages around the world approach.
A musical opening also Renaud Garcia Fons shares whose sound is influenced by jazz and classical music as flamenco, new musette and world music so much.
Throughout the concert they will be joined on stage drummer and percussionist Javier Ruibal and singer Esperanza Fernández, one of the main voices of flamenco today.
On the second evening concert, Jazz San Javier receives for the first time one of the great divas of contemporary jazz, singer, songwriter and pianist Melody Gardot has managed to place in the pantheon of the world music scene in just a few years.
Melody Gardot published in 2015 his fourth and final studio album "Currency of Man", whose recording at the Olympia Theatre in Paris recently released on DVD.
The magic of her voice, together with the elegance and subtlety of his stage presence, and his compositions with heartfelt stories and committed lyrics socially, in many cases, makes Melody Gardot a musical phenomenon that has crossed the border of jazz and sold millions records around the world.
In "Currency of Man", where it joins back to winning producer of several Grammy Awards, Larry Klein, Gardot presents an original new work that also constitutes a whole social proclamation, addressing issues such as the homeless, those who have lost hope or racial violence.
"This album is made up of stories about people who know what they are tough times, people struggling to overcome, and that's something that resonates deeply with me," says Melody Gardot, who sheds her sunglasses by the hypersensitivity to light after suffering a serious accident he suffered in 19 years, whose consequences still struggling.
This young piano student thereafter began composing and unleash a natural talent who could happily go out and show love to audiences around the world with four great albums and a captivating live.
