Mayor Jose Miguel Luengo and the president of the Association of Families and Persons with Mental Illness del Mar Menor, AFEM, Juana Romero, today signed the renewal of a collaboration agreement between the two institutions which will involve the municipal contribution of an annual grant of 3,000 euros to that association.
Juana Romero, who came accompanied by a group of users of the services provided by AFEM, thanked "the help and support we received from the City of San Javier" and explained that the agreement signed today "allows AFEM cover workshops occupations, such as the ceramic thanks to this help, or sports workshop for participation in the league Feafes Pro Mental Health "was created.

Juana Romero recalled that "one in four people suffer from mental illness throughout his life, and that less than 25% of sufferers are diagnosed correctly."
AFEM headquarters is located in San Francisco de Asis, 4 Lo Pagan, San Pedro del Pinatar where county offer services for the community through awareness campaigns and awareness, volunteer recruitment and community involvement activities.

People with mental illness have a day center with the host program, psychology service, home care, occupational workshops and leisure time through a Social Club.
It also has a service aimed at children between 6 and 18 years with behavioral disorders, feeding, behavior and learning.
