A group of seven users girls of Social Services of San Javier participated in a novel social project through kiteboarding, called "Tribu del Sol", held last summer in La Manga.
This is a solidarity program led by three kiteboarders women Barbados, co-founders of "KiteSirens" which has reached the Spanish coasts where selected three areas recognized by the community of kiteboarding, among which is La Manga, along with Delta Ebro and Tarifa.
The project aims to help young girls to believe in their own abilities, inspire in them a healthy way of life through sport kite and convey that another lifestyle is possible regardless of the source.
The initiative, which was held with great success, aims to break the barriers that can generate an expensive sport like kiteboarding especially in people at risk of social exclusion and promote personal growth and self-confidence, and shows the secrets of this sport.
The requirements for participation in this project, which included 12 hours of free training, was to be 14- to 21 years served by social services in social inclusion.
The result for both the young participants, instructors and Social Services own the City of San Javier has been very positive thanks to a new and original way of understanding social inclusion that has allowed them to learn other healthy realities, improve their self-confidence and strengthen their social skills, explained from social Services.
