The Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure will work with the City of San Javier to improve bus service between the city center and the districts of the municipality.
The Director General of Transport, coasts and ports, Salvador Garcia-Ayllón, and the Councillor for Transport of the City of San Javier, Antonio Marcelo Martinez, met today to discuss the situation of public transport in the city and demands to expand services .
One of the priorities for the municipality is the launch of a bus line that connects the town of San Javier with the villages of Roda, Pozo Aledo, Santiago de la Ribera or El Mirador, among others, to improve mobility of all residents in outlying areas to the urban area.
It is also intended to be compatible with the intercity public transport which currently makes the journey between Balsicas, Torre Pacheco and San Pedro del Pinatar, passing through San Javier, and serves as a whole more than 37,000 passengers a year.
Garcia-Ayllon said that this demand of the residents of San Javier "be taken into account in the updated and detailed study to be conducted of supply and demand" within the Director of Transport of the Region of Murcia Plan, the Community has taken recently bid.
