The mayor José Miguel Luengo signed three cooperation agreements this morning between the City Council of San Javier and Cáritas de Santiago de la Ribera, which will receive 26,000 euros from municipal funds;
The Parish Museum of San Javier to which it contributes 15,000 euros and the Carnival Popular Cultural Association of Santiago de la Ribera, which will receive 16,000 euros.
Luengo highlighted the great work that the three entities have developed in different fields with which they have renewed collaboration agreements for the repercussion that their work has on local society, through emergency social assistance, maintenance of artistic heritage and cultural demand , And the Carnival celebrations that every year project to Santiago de la Ribera outside our municipality.
Caritas of Santiago de la Ribera, which was represented by its president, the parish priest Juan Pedro Fernandez, will dedicate the municipal contribution to the purchase of food, with which they complement those received by the Food Bank, and the payment of receipts mainly.
At present, about 35 volunteers serve 116 families, almost half less than two years ago when they attended 204.
The Parish Museum of San Javier, which receives thousands of visits a year, allocates municipal assistance to the maintenance of basic infrastructure and personnel, as well as activities to revitalize and improve facilities, said its director, María Griñán.
