The Point of Attention to Children, PAI, of El Mirador already has its own ecological orchard.
In the absence of an appropriate land space, municipal services have devised six large reused mobile planters made of pallets that are already in operation.
The councilman of Agriculture and Environment, Antonio Luengo accompanied by the councilor of Social Services, Estibaliz Masegosa, whose department depends on the center to which children from 0 to 3 years old attend, attended today the inauguration of the orchard in which the Children planted their first baby lettuces.
Luengo highlighted the solution given to the lack of adequate space in the El Mirador children's school so that children can from these early ages experience and become familiar with agriculture and all the values ​​it conveys.
The mayor reiterated the commitment of his council for the school gardens and thanked the disposition of the staff of the center, which will have the support of municipal technicians.
The director of the center, emphasized the welcome by the children and the involvement of families who have even contributed plants to plant.
The planters have been made using two old pallets superimposed as a container opening two separate holes that once lined with asphalt cloth have been filled with soil prepared to plant.
In addition four wheels have been placed to each gardener to make them more functional when looking for the sun.
