The Local Table of Children and Adolescents has been released today with the reading of the Manifesto commemorating the Universal Day of the Child that has taken place in the Plaza of Spain with the attendance of the mayor, José Miguel Luengo, Councilor for Social Services, Estíbaliz Masegosa and other members of the Corporation together with a group of schoolchildren.
The celebration in San Javier of 20N, Universal Children's Day, "has more meaning than ever," recalled José Miguel Luengo who reiterated the municipal commitment to childhood and adolescence recently recognized with the seal of "Amiga City of Children" awarded By Unicef.
Luengo explained that this recognition will translate, among other things, "from now on children will be taken into account and their opinions will have an impact on the political decisions we adopt in the City Council," added the mayor.
The Local Board of Children and Adolescents was formed following the recent development of the Plan for Children and Adolescents of the municipality of San Javier, and consists of children chosen as representatives of students in the School Councils of each center Of teaching of the municipality, and by the Local Council of the Youth, through its president Maria Reyes.
The Bureau, which has already met twice, will be completed soon with the incorporation of students from centers where no elections have yet been held for the School Council.
Children who are part of the Local Children's Bureau were responsible for reading the Manifesto in which they recalled that children have the right to health, education and protection, regardless of the place of the world in which they were born.
They also read the wishes expressed by the children as to avoid the wars and the suffering of children, and to find a cure against cancer, among others.
