The mayor of San Javier today invited the promoters of the Region of Murcia to know the General Plan of the municipality, which will be definitely approved in 2017, and take advantage of the tourist potential of the municipality, during the VI Convention of Residential Tourism that has been held this Tomorrow in Santiago de la Ribera, organized by the Association of Real Estate Developers of the Region of Murcia (APIRM), in collaboration with the Institute of Promotion of the Region of Murcia.
The convention, which was attended by more than 150 international real estate agents and promoters operating in the Region of Murcia and bordering provinces, as well as construction related materials companies, was inaugurated in the convention hall of the restaurant Miramar by the President of the regional association of promoters, José Hernández, the mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo and the counselor of the Presidency of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia María Dolores Pagán.
The Mayor of San Javier, accompanied by the Councilor for Tourism, Antonio Martínez, presented to the promoters the new tax cuts approved by the City of San Javier for 2017 that aims to promote economic activity in the municipality, some Of them related to the tourist sector that affect the officially registered tourist apartments as such, or the construction of new hotel establishments, which also includes the new General Plan raising to 10 heights exclusively for hotel use.
José Miguel Luengo highlighted the context of current economic recovery and the trust that the municipality of San Javier offers to investors and that is translating into important investments and job creation, especially in the tourism sector with the arrival of prominent hotel groups Which have acquired the Mangalán Hotel in La Manga, and the emblematic Hotel Entremares, whose new owner, the group Roc Hoteles will invest 22 million euros for its reopening next summer.
During the VI Convention of Residential Tourism that was celebrated under the motto "What offers the Region of Murcia as residential tourist destination ?, it was revealed that the purchase and sale of free housing by foreigners in the Region of Murcia increased by 34.9 % In the first half of 2016 with respect to the same period of the previous year, being the fifth highest by communities.
The Convention began with the presentation "Región de Murcia, a quality tourist destination", with the participation of INFO investment fund manager Fernando Ballesta and the director general of Territory Planning, Architecture and Housing, Nuria Fuentes.
