The Youth Council of San Javier will again set a rhythm for the carnival of Santiago de la Ribera with the II National Contest of Charangas to be held next March 4.
In this edition, the participating charangas will fill the town with music with a parade that will begin at 21:00 in which each of the formations will depart from a point other than Santiago de la Ribra, to merge, finally in the carnival tent .
The contest, properly speaking, will begin at 22:30 with the performance of each of those musical formations, in which wind and percussion predominate, with a marked festive character.
A jury composed of five people appointed by the Youth Council itself will be in charge of choosing the charanga improvement, taking into account aspects such as the level of arrangements, or the spectacle and animation that they are able to convey.
The final winners will receive the three best charangas appointed by the jury who will receive € 700 for the first prize, awarded by the Youth Council of San Javier;
€ 500 for the second prize awarded by the Department of Culture of the City of San Javier, and € 300 for the third prize awarded by the Carnival Commission of Santiago de la Ribera.
The charangas interested in enjoying a carnival night in Santiago de la Ribera, and demonstrate their value by opting for the prizes of this II National Competition can gather more information and formalize the inscription in Consejojuventudsj@gmail.com
