The Councilor for Social Services, Estíbaliz Masegosa stressed today the work being carried out in the schools of the municipality the Association of Relatives and Friends of Alzheimer's Disease, AFAL, to sensitize and train the youngest on the disease, during an activity that technicians Of AFAL have done in the school "Sacred Heart" of San Javier.
The activity that takes place in several educational centers with students of 1st of ESO, is called "Living with our grandparents", title of a talk in which Raul Nieto, technician and manager of AFAL, transfers in an interactive form to the students information On how to live and how to deal closely with Alzheimer's disease or any other dementia.
The talk is a preliminary step of a project that goes further and will culminate with a Comic Contest, in which children are invited to create comics and will be integrated into the programming of the next edition of the Young Art Festival , Imagine.
AFAL has carried out other informative actions in educational centers of the municipality as the talk "How you care for your brain", in which students of 4 of ESO, IES "Las Salinas", La Manga del Mar Menor, and "Mar Menor" And "Sacred Heart", have been able to know how feeding, bad habits and addictions can affect the functioning of the brain.
Also, 5-year-olds from La Paz, Severo Ochoa, El Recuerdo, El Mirador, Joaquín Carrión and La Manga have learned practical advice on proper hygiene. Postural, within the broad, informative, formative and preventive campaign AFAL carries out in the municipality.
