The art festival organized by the Council of Youth of the City of San Javier, Imagina 2017 started today with an artistic installation carried out by the Association for the Community Integration of Psychic Sick People of Cartagena and Comarca, Apices, in which they invite the public to look at themselves In the mirrors that carry out each work and to reflect on the phrases written in ceramic letters that accompany them.
The facility, which can be visited in the San Javier library, was inaugurated this morning by the Councilor for Youth, Estíbaliz Masegosa, and its artistic director, Alberto Martínez and a large group of the Day Center for people with mental illness that Apices has in Cartagena.
Masegosa recalled the importance that the festival has for integration through art and the example that in this sense offers Apex that participates in Imagine for the sixth consecutive year.
The facility, called "Mírate", is the work of 15 users of the Day Center for people with mental illness belonging to the group of artherapy, directed by Mariona Simarro, director of artistic projects of the Association that highlighted the process of creating works as The most important part since the authors work together on the subject to be developed and the final form that the work finally acquires.
In the installation, the mirrors allow you to be reflected as in the bottom of a well, where you are invited to "look to the depths of you", look from new perspectives, to experiment with "mirror neurons", and invites you To take a look at the hope "if you look for those people that change your life".
The director of Apex, Pepa Hernández thanked the reception that Imagina provides one more year to the people of the association who work especially motivated to present their work in the festival.
Imagina 2017 is taking shape from today, being able to already see the artists placing their work, which is already exposed in closed stages and will be fully available in open stages from Friday, April 7th in the morning.
That same day, at 9:00 pm, the Festival's central event will take place with Ramón Lez as guest artist and the music of Varry Brava at the San Javier Museum, where all the participating artists will coincide in this edition. Some thirty works of different artistic disciplines.
