The International Festival of Theater, Music and Dance of San Javier has unveiled a small preview of the program of its 48th edition that will be presented in its entirety next May.
To the well-known presence of the actress Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, who will receive the Prize of the Festival, with the work "Troyanas" on August 6, three other shows have been added, one of music with Noa and Pasión Vega;
Another dance with the Chinese company of contemporary dance Tao Dance Theater, and a third theater with "The comedy of lies" with Pepón Nieto and Maria Barranco at the head of a cast full of familiar faces.
"Mediterráneas" is the title of the concert that will be presented on Saturday, August 19, the Israeli singer Noa and the Spanish Pasión Vega to which, in addition to the Mediterranean Sea, they have a taste for musical mestizaje and a great friendship.
The joint recording of "Sonata de Luna in Marrakesh" for the special edition of the album "Passion by Cano" by Pasión Vega was the beginning of a human and musical understanding that after several collaborations has led them to present a unique and magical spectacle in That both artists will interpret joint themes and review the great songs of their careers.
The dance will be one of the highlights of the festival, with the company of the moment, Tao Dance Theater, a Chinese company of contemporary dance founded 8 years ago by Tao Ye, dancer and choreographer who decided to create his own Company, after a successful career, with which he has collaborated with the most important artists in his country, and has been acclaimed on stage all over the world.
Tao Ye, who since 2012 is an emerging artist from Saldler's Wells, a reference for dance in London, is based on the use of the body to create by means of minimalist experiments of exploration of the human body as a visual element.
At present, the dancers come from different parts of China to learn from the company, which is also dedicated to training in their country, their unique movement technique.
In the section of theater, the most bulky of the Festival, the program advance includes, in addition to "Troyanas", the play "The comedy of lies" by Pep Anton Gomez and Sergi Pomermayer, from the work of Plauto.
The show, which will be seen on Thursday, August 24, is a co-production of the Mérida International Classical Theater Festival, with an excellent cast of faces known as Pepón Nieto, María Barranco, Paco Tous, Canco Rodríguez, Angy Fernández, Raúl Jiménez and Marta Guerras.
