The Plenum of the City of San Javier has today unanimously approved the technical specifications for the tender of the project and works to improve the installation of public lighting in the municipality of San Javier, for a total value of 4,747,611.99Euros.
The Councilor for Public Services, María Dolores Ruiz explained in the Plenary that the chosen modality of recruitment, due to its suitability according to a report of the municipal engineer, is that of a mixed contract for the drafting of the project and execution of works by the final contractor, through An open contracting procedure to facilitate the maximum attendance.
The objective of the works is to replace the old luminaires with new ones of LED technology, which will allow a saving in the electricity bill of about 400,000 euros per year, improve energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and Improve light pollution in the municipality.
The technical bases, which foresee a period of execution of the works of 12 months, will be published in the next days.
The project, one of the most ambitious in the Region of Murcia in terms of efficiency and energy savings, extends throughout the municipality divided into three lots, in the technical specifications.
In La Manga del Mar Menor it contemplates the replacement of 985 luminarias, 426 supports and 23 control panels;
In Santiago de la Ribera 1,336 luminaires, 883 supports and 28 control panels will be renewed;
And in San Javier and the rest of districts, will be a total of 1320 luminarias, with 329 supports and 38 control panels.
The improvement in public lighting of the municipality is preceded by an energy audit carried out by the Technological Center of Energy and Environment through an agreement with the Institute of Promotion of the Region of Murcia.
The works will be financed by a loan for the total of their value from the Jessica FIDAE Portfolio Fund of the European Investment Bank through its manager in Spain BBVA, with an interest rate of 0, two years of grace period and 10 years of amortization , Which is expected to be amortized with the total savings achieved in that period.
The Mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo thanked the support and congratulated the Municipal Corporation "because it is a historic project for the municipality in the field of public lighting improvement with state-of-the-art technology, which will allow us to provide a better service to the Neighbors, stop emitting greenhouse gases, improve energy efficiency and economic savings. "
Luengo recalled that once all the luminaires have been replaced, 816 tonnes of CO2 per year will be avoided, which is equivalent to the benefits of planting more than 20,000 trees.
