The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo and the director of the International University of the Sea, Raquel Sánchez presented today in the City of San Javier the four summer courses based in the municipality among which highlights as novelty the course "Rescue On beaches and identification of hazards "to be held, for the first time, from 17 to 21 July.
The director of the International University of the Sea, Raquel Sánchez referred to San Javier as "an international benchmark in Sport", so two of the courses programmed at its headquarters are related to this subject.
The course, "Psychological intervention in functional rehabilitation of sports injuries", which is celebrating its second edition, and the successful "International Course of High Performance in Basketball", one of the most demanded of the 91 courses offered by the Campus Mare Nostrum and will hold its seventh edition from 14 to 16 July.
For the sixth year in a row, another of the highly popular courses, "Educating, Creating and Healing through the Tales" will be held from September 4 to 8, with a theoretical part and workshops.
Maria Valverde, co-director of the course explained that there will also be a third of experiences, which will present the case of a teaching cooperative in Madrid, which formed with the team responsible for the course, applies the tool of the story in the global program Center.
The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo said that for San Javier the International University of the Sea is "one more opportunity to promote culture and make us known."
Luengo said that San Javier, which houses the Sports Campus, is "a natural ally of the University" and reiterated the support and collaboration between both institutions, as well as guaranteeing the seat of San Javier for successive editions of the International University of the Sea Which organizes its summer courses for 34 years.
Arturo Díaz, dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, who will host the courses, attended the presentation in which he noted "the realization that San Javier is a municipality open to the university world."
The dean thanked the collaboration of the City Council with the Campus of San Javier through the councils of Education and Sports and highlighted the favorable environment offered by the municipality for summer courses.
The University of the Sea courses are courses open to society and aimed at all types of public with very diverse themes, recalled the director of the International University of the Sea, Raquel Sánchez, who emphasized San Javier's commitment to cultural tourism.
Raquel Sánchez encouraged early registration "since they are highly demanded courses".
The price of the courses is 65Euros for UMU and UPCT students, and 85 for the rest.
Registration is closed five days before the start of the course.
