Luengo made reference to the European aid during the Conference on Intelligent Cities and Eco-innovative Companies, which was held this morning at the Mangalán hotel in La Manga del Mar Menor, organized by the European Business and Innovation Center of Murcia (CEEIM). Which participated with the General Director of Transport, Ports and Coasts, José Ramón Díez de Revenga and the Director of the Institute of Development, Joaquín Gómez.
José Miguel Luengo explained the case of the municipality of San Javier that has obtained funding with 5 million euros from the European Regional Development Fund, ERDF, to develop the strategic plan "San Javier, 2022 horizon. A living city", and a loan Of another 5 million euros, through JESSICA-FIDAE funds, aimed at improving the energy efficiency of public lighting.
José Ramón Díez de Revenga, General Director of Transport, Ports and Coast stressed the "capacity of innovation of the City of San Javier" for the achievement of this type of aid to which is added the strategy "La Manga 365 days" which also Was approved to the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia and will involve a total investment in the tourist resort of 18 million euros, of which 15 million will be financed by the EU.
Díez de Revenga highlighted "the great transformative potential of these funds" for its transversal approach covering multiple areas, while taking into account the new technologies applied to urban rehabilitation.
The environmental, sustainability and cohesion approach of the aid will allow, he affirmed, to carry out diverse interventions that will contribute to the global transformation of the locality away from the megalomaniac works.
The director of the Institute of Development, Joaquín Gómez was in charge of presenting the day, which began with the examples of the EDUSI of San Javier and La Manga and whose objective was to disseminate the program IT's EU, which have been awarded 10 Spain, And that in the Region of Murcia is coordinated by CEEIM.
