The fire that occurred this morning in a small recreational boat in front of the beach of Columbus, in Santiago de la Ribera caused that its two occupants were thrown to the water from where they have been rescued by personnel of the service of surveillance and rescue in beaches of Civil Protection of San Javier in what was a simulated exercise of one of the emergencies with which they can meet this summer.
The simulacrum was carried out successfully in front of the eyes of the public who could see as one of the first-aiders of the nearest monitoring station was launched into the water while activating other resources like a watercraft and the rescue boat Albufera, located Operational 24 hours a day.
The watercraft that carries a trailer to transport people and the rescuer who came to swim took the shore to the shipwrecked, where they awaited other rescue workers mobilized by the operation that had to attend one of them with oxygen due to an anxiety crisis .
Meanwhile the watercraft went to the boat to avoid anyone approaching while the rescue boat was suffocating the fire with an extinguisher towing the ship to the nearest port.
The simulacrum was held coinciding with the presentation this morning in the Paseo Colón, Santiago de la Ribera, Plan Copla 2017 by the Minister of Presidency and Promotion, Pedro Rivera, with the presence of the mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo, the General director of Public Safety and Emergencies José Ángel Carrasco, and the general director of the Mar Menor, Antonio Luengo.
