Jazz San Javier is coming to Brazil with the great Ivan Lins on a night that will end with blues by the group "Blues Express", Mingo Balaguer, Lluis Coloma, Francisco Simón and Californian singer Tia Carroll
Ivan Lins, one of the most admired Brazilian musicians of all time, whose compositions have performed artists such as Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Manhattan Transfer or Diana Krall, will be in charge of opening the night in the auditorium of Almansa Park, which will end with A project sponsored by the Festival called "Blues Express" in which three great Spanish blues musicians: Mingo Balaguer, Francisco Simón and Lluis Coloma, along with the American blues singer Tia Carroll participate.
The singer, composer and pianist Ivan Lins has been and is one of the great exponents of Brazilian music during the last decades.
Since his first major success, his composition "Madalena" that Elis Regina sang in 1970, Ivan Lins has recorded 46 albums in a long career in which he has triumphed as a singer and composer inside and outside his country, as in the United States, where Is especially admired in the jazzy atmosphere.
Ivan Lins collaborated with Lee Ritenour and Dave Grusin on his award-winning album "Harlequin," and has recorded with Toots Thielemans, Terence Blanchard, and Eliane Elias, among many others.
One of his most famous compositions "Remembrance" has been recorded by dozens of jazz artists, such as Betty Carter, Diane Schuur, or George Benson.
At age 70, Ivan Lins, remains a reference in Brazilian music and jazz.
His return to Jazz San Javier coincides with recent works such as "América, Brasil" (2015) in which he includes themes he had created for other artists to which he now puts his voice, along with unpublished themes, "Amoragio", and publication Of a triple compilation "Ivan Lins-Anos 70" (2016).
The blues, always so present in Jazz San Javier, enjoys excellent health in our country, as evidenced by the existence of great musicians such as harmonica player Mingo Balaguer, tanned in one of the great reference bands of the Spanish blues, Caledonia Blues Band.
Guitarist Francisco Simón comes from another of the great bands of Spanish jazz blues, the Red House, in which he shares leadership with the American singer Jeff Spinoza.
To these two great blues in Spain is added Lluis Coloma, one of the icons of Jazz San Javier and one of the most recognized European pianists of blues and boogie woogie, in addition to being an accomplished master in Jazz.
The San Javier Jazz Festival has brought together these three great musicians in a new project alongside the prestigious California blues and R & B singer Tia Carroll, complete with Manolo Germán on bass and Marc Ruiz on drums.
