European Jazz Night with pianist Thierry Lang and vocal jazz with the American Stacey Kent in Jazz San Javier
Swiss pianist Thierry Lang, accompanied by his new Trio, will open a European night at Jazz San Javier where he will perform with a luxury guest, the French harmonist Olivier Ker Ourio.
The second concert of the night will star the North American singer settled in France, Stacey Kent, next to its husband the British saxophonist Jim Tomlinson.
Jazz San Javier has never stopped looking for European jazz, which has in the Swiss Thierry Lang one of its greatest exponents.
Lang is one of the great jazz pianists of our continent, a great composer and one of the first European musicians to record with the legendary record label Blue Note.
Classically trained, Thierry Lang soon opted for the jazz piano, with Oscar Peterson as a reference.
Thierry Lang, piano teacher and Doctor Honoris Causa by the European University, returns to Jazz San Javier with his new Trio in which he continues counting on the contrabajista Heiri Kaenzig, next to the Austrian drummer Mario Gonzi.

The second concert of the night will correspond to the singer Stacey Kent, one of the indispensable names among the jazz vocalists of the moment around the world.
"Tenderly" (Sony 2015) is his latest album, an album of standards for whose recording was Brazilian guitarist Roberto Menescal.
Brazilian music and, of course, the Chanson were the great discoveries of this graduate in Comparative Literature, when in 1990 she arrived in Europe to expand studies.
In London he met his current partner, the saxophonist Jim Tomlinson, and later the writer Kazuo Ishiguro, who wrote several songs for her.
Stacey Kent went beyond the American songbook, proving that she is able to leave her personal seal in a wide repertoire.
She sought out French music to finish recording the album "Raconte-moi", turned into a sales success, and in love with the Brazilian music, after a visit to the country, learned Portuguese to sing bossa nova surrounded by musicians like Marcos Valle with the Who recorded "The Changing Lights," one of the 10 albums of his compelling discography featuring "Grammy-nominated" Breakfast On The Morning Tram "(EMI / Blue Note 2007) and platinum.
