The Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Adela Martínez-Cachá accompanied by the mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo and the Councilor for Education, Catalina Pérez visited today the facilities of the IES "Mar Menor" where the Ministry currently projected An extension with a new building that will house all the training cycles that are currently taught in the municipality.
The counseling technicians are already working on the project to be presented in San Javier before the end of the year according to the counselor Adela Martínez-Cachá who confirmed the implementation in San Javier of the training cycles of Socorrismo and Vela that will be added to the already Existing activities of Animation of Physical Sports Activities and Administration and Finance of Higher Degree;
Auxiliary care of Nursing, Administrative Management and Hairdressing and Aesthetics of Middle Degree, and Administrative Services and Hairdressing and Aesthetics, basic level.
The works that are scheduled to start in the first half of 2018 will take place in a plot adjacent to the IES Mar Menor, provided by the City Council of San Javier for the expansion of the center that will imply the decongestion of the IES as well as the liberation of other municipal spaces that They welcome some of the formative cycles that are given today.
Mayor Jose Miguel Luengo stressed that the new building will be "a radical change" and expressed his confidence that it will "be a shock to professional education in our municipality."
Luengo highlighted the incorporation of new sports studies for San Javier with the professional studies of sailing and life support "with what we continue to delve into something that is working very well in the municipality and throughout the region."
The life-saving and sailing studies that will be implemented in the 2017-2018 academic year are part of a new Vocational Training Map which has developed counseling in collaboration with local administrations, social and educational agents with the aim of "articulating an offer of VET Varied, balanced and adapted to the training needs of students and companies, "explained Martínez Cachá.
Before the visit to the IES "Mar Menor", Adela Martínez-Cachá who first visited the municipality as counselor of Education, Youth and Sports, Adela Martínez Cachá held a working meeting in the City Hall with the mayor, José Miguel Luengo and The Councilors of Education, Catalina Pérez and Youth and Sports, Estíbaliz Masegosa in which different issues of interest to the municipality were addressed.
