The VI Handicrafts Exhibition of Santiago de la Ribera has already opened its doors with a total of 14 positions in which the artisans themselves will attend the public directly every day, from seven to twelve in the morning, until August 26.
Mayor José Miguel Luengo, general director of Commerce, Consumption and Administrative Simplification Francisco Abril and the Councilor for Culture and Crafts, David Martínez inaugurated last Friday the Exhibition which includes a total of 11 trades such as leather goods, ceramics, toys, porcelain, Macrame, crochet, candy, jelly, furniture, cosmetics and footwear, all made by hand.
The participating artisans belong to the association Mursiya Artesana, a group of professionals whose objective is to revalorize the crafts of Murcia and defend the interests of the artisan sector as a whole.
The exhibition, which this year moves to the seafront of Castillicos beach, includes along with the exhibition and sale of products, a series of practical workshops to initiate the present trades that from Monday to Friday will offer the participating artisans to the interested public.
The programming of the workshops will be available in own sample.
The mayor highlighted the quality of the exhibition that is installed in the municipality for the sixth consecutive year and pointed to the double objective of promoting Murcia crafts and to offer a more attractive along the promenade during the summer nights.
The Director General of Commerce, Francisco Abril showed the support of his department to the artisan sector of the Region of Murcia and thanked the City Council for the opportunity to publicize and disseminate these manual trades with initiatives such as the Sample, the longest of how many Are organized in the Region of Murcia.
