The Municipal Corporation, workers of the City Council and dozens of neighbors today kept a minute of silence in the square of Spain in memory of the PP councilman in Ermua, Miguel Angel Blanco coinciding with the 20th anniversary of his assassination by the terrorist group ETA, in a An act in which Mayor Jose Miguel Luengo also recalled "the nearly 1,000 people killed by ETA, and their families."
Luengo said that today's event "is also a moment of reflection in which we remember how with our democratic system we have managed to defeat the assassins of ETA."
After the Mayor's words, a minute of broken silence was celebrated for a prolonged and emotional applause.
