Jazz San Javier presents a night dedicated to the blues and the R & B with Toni Lynn Washington and the Barcelona Big Blues Band with Dani Nel.lo and Ray Gelato
American blues singer Toni Lynn Washington, considered the queen of the Boston blues and one of the great voices of the genre, visits Jazz San Javier accompanied by the powerful band of the Italian guitarist Luca Giordano and the great Saxophonist North Sax Sax.
Tanned in the gospel choirs of her hometown in North Carolina, Toni Lynn soon discovered R & B and blues coming to perform with classics such as Sam and Dave, or Jackie Wilson, among others, after their passage through New Orleans and Boston , Where it was finally established.
Toni Lynn Washington, who among many awards and honors has received the Boston Blues Festival Lifetime Achievement Award, will perform alongside Italian blues guitarist Luca Giordano, and his band consisting of five musicians and Sax Gordon's explosive sax.
Luca Giordano's blues sound to Chicago where he set a season in search of the true roots of the blues and where he came to play with the legendary JW Williams, Les Getrex Band and Sharon Lewis, among other musicians.
The great saxophonist Sax Gordon, one of the greatest exponents of the American R & B tradition, and one of the most outstanding saxophonists on the international music scene, is an old acquaintance of Luca Giordano with whom he has played on previous occasions, and with The one that counted for the recording of his first disc "My Kind Of Blues".
The second part of the night dedicated to the blues in Jazz San Javier is presented explosively with the Barcelona Big Blues Band that will take to the stage to 15 musicians, among which are like special guests the saxophonists Dani Nel.lo and Ray Gelato.
The Barcelona Big Blues Band, led by bassist Ivan Kovacevic, is in line with the tradition of Big Bands that emerged in Barcelona from the early 70's but was the first dedicated exclusively to blues and R & B.
The Barcelona Big Blues Band brings together a remarkable group of musicians able to create an energetic sound, as wild and resounding as sophisticated, whose result is a powerful sound in the line of classic bands like T-Bone Walker or Johnny Otis or even others more Current like the Californian Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.
The spectacular saxophonist Dani Nel.lo and the extraordinary British tenor singer and saxophonist Ray Gelato dubbed "The Godfather of Swing", who had already had the Barcelona Big Blues Band on other occasions, now join as special guests to this superbanda that combines A great sense of spectacle to his impeccable technical bill.
