Mayor José Miguel Luengo and the president of AFEMAR Mental Health Mar Menor, Juana María Romero have today signed the renewal of the collaboration agreement between both institutions by which the association, dedicated to the care of people with mental disorders, will receive 3,000 euros as assistance for the development of different activities throughout the year.
The Regional Association that has its headquarters in San Pedro del Pinatar, currently serves 30 users in its Day Center, and about 23 children with Generalized Developmental Disorder.
Created in 2008, Afemar offers services aimed at patients and families of information, counseling, psychology, workshops occupations and leisure and free time.
Currently, Afemar is working on an ambitious project called "Eurosalud mental", which have been submitted to the San Javier City Council, which aims to promote the Mar Menor region as a destination for mental health tourism from different countries European countries.
The family of AFEMAR celebrates plans to join the other associations of the Region of Murcia, in celebration of Mental Health Day to be held on October 10 with a meeting in Caravaca de la Cruz, under the slogan "Work without masks, hiring without barriers ".
