Mayor José Miguel Luengo and the UNICEF president of the Autonomous Committee of Murcia, Amparo Marzal, signed today in the City of San Javier with a collaboration agreement between both institutions to continue advancing in policies and actions in favor of children.
The agreement, which does not carry an economic obligation and which is part of the development of the Child Friendly Cities program to which San Javier joined in November 2016, aims to improve the coordination between the technicians of the Municipal Social Services and those of the UNICEF to implement actions that improve the living conditions and ensure the integral development of childhood and adolescence.
José Miguel Luengo reiterated "the commitment of the City of San Javier with children" and expressed his satisfaction "for continuing to work together with Unicef ​​in this regard."
The Mayor recalled the progress made by the Local Children's Bureau in its incorporation into the life of the municipality by providing ideas on issues such as the Almansa Park reform and pledged to further strengthen this body composed of children, adolescents and young people.
The president of Unicef ​​Autonomous Committee of Murcia, Amparo Marzal thanked the sensitivity of the City of San Javier which is one of five municipalities declared as Child Friendly Cities in the Region of Murcia and recalled that the agreement signed today "is a step further to continue working together in the defense and promotion of childhood and adolescence.
