The sport will fill every millimeter of the beach of Santiago de la Ribera the next days 14 and 15 in which the municipality of San Javier becomes the headquarters of the second edition of the Mar Menor Games, an initiative of the Union of Sports Federations the Region of Murcia which includes tournaments, exhibitions, baptisms, of all sports disciplines that are practiced in the Region.
The initiative, supported by the regional government and the city of San Javier, among other institutions, this year will join the UMU University Welcome party at the San Javier Campus with music concerts, a day of young researchers, and a camping area for students of the University, among other activities of the party with which the UMU welcomes its students each course.
The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo, the general director of the Mar Menor, Antonio Luengo, the general director of Sports, Alonso Gómez, the president of the Union of Sports Federations, Jose Maria López and presidents of the different Federations Murcia, presented this morning at the Nautical Club of Santiago de la Ribera Mar Menor Games, an initiative that emerged as "a commitment to the Region of Murcia and to claim the Mar Menor as one of our best infrastructures for sports," said José María López.
The Mar Menor Games includes more than 60 different sports activities ranging from the most popular sports to all related to the sea, horse riding, drones, rescue and rescue, fencing, paramotor or chess among many others.
The activities will be held from 10 am to 4 pm and from 4 pm to 4 pm on Saturday 14 and from 10 am to 2 pm on Sunday, 15 October, at different points along the coastline of Santiago de la Ribera.
Some of them will be federal tests, others free, and other mixed, as well as baptisms, exhibitions and complementary activities in which there will be concerts, fitness, pole dance, and even ludoteca and foodtrack.
The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo who had requested to host the Mar Menor Games in the municipality, highlighted the sports tradition of the municipality and the successful binomial of sports and tourism as the initiative will fill the locality of public of all ages that you can enjoy both the Mar Menor and sport.
The director general of the Mar Menor, Antonio Luengo thanked the initiative of the Union of Federations, encouraged to work together for the Mar Menor, and announced that his department will use to influence the environmental awareness with different campaigns.
The director general of Sports, Alonso Gómez invited to participate in this initiative, which promotes the Mar Menor as a sports arena and reveals a multitude of sports that invited to continue practicing.
