The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo and the president of the Association of Relatives and Friends of Alzheimer's patients Cartagena and Comarca, AFAL, María José Regueiro have signed the renewal of a collaboration agreement that allows improving the quality of life of people who suffer from Alzheimer's disease in the municipality.
AFAL, which receives a contribution of 2000 euros through the collaboration agreement, has a headquarters ceded by the City of San Javier in the Municipal Center of Older People, Santiago de la Ribera, where it serves 35 users receiving treatment of physiotherapy and cognitive and physical stimulation.
Raul Nieto, manager of AFAL, who attended the signing of the agreement, explained that the technicians of the association also attends another 26 people in their own homes.
The association also has a social worker to offer any type of advice to families affected by the disease.
