The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo received today the colonel director of the AGA, Miguel Ivorra Ruiz in what has been his first institutional visit to the City of San Javier since his appointment last July at the head of the General Air Academy.
During the visit, which began with the signing of Colonel Miguel Ivorra in the Golden Book of the City of San Javier and an exchange of gifts, both held a meeting in which different topics of interest to the two institutions were discussed such as the celebration in 2018 of the 75th anniversary of the creation of the AGA.
The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo transfer to the head of the AGA the provision of the City of San Javier to collaborate with the military institution in the program of events that will lead to the celebration of the anniversary that the City will use to name as General Academy Avenue Aire, the current Avenida Francisco Franco, in Santiago de la Ribera.
The Mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo and the Colonel Director of the AGA Miguel Ivorra addressed other actions in which they work towards the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the AGA as an Air Festival, similar to the one held in 2015 during the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Eagle Acrobatic Patrol.
Among other actions, we also work on a temporary exhibition with historical material that reflects the 75 years of existence of the General Academy that since 1943 trains Air Force officers in the municipality of San Javier.
Among other issues, they also addressed the conversations and work already underway for the creation of a Center for Aeronautical Culture that would contribute to disseminating the history of the Spanish Air Force and would place the municipality as a tourist reference in the matter.
