The program of youth correspondents in San Javier has renewed its representatives in the secondary schools of the municipality to which this year the Professional Conservatory of Music has also joined.
The Councilor for Youth Estíbaliz Masegosa met with some of the new correspondents who were grateful that they devote part of their time and effort to disseminate information of interest to young people among their peers.
That is the objective of this program launched by the General Directorate of Youth, which has been successfully developed in San Javier for five years.
In San Javier, the IES "Mar Menor" and "Ruiz de Alda", the school "Sacred Heart" and the Conservatory of Music, have two correspondents each, to which are added some collaborators, whose job is to disseminate the information whether local, regional, national or international on any subject of interest to young people as related to leisure, training, scholarships, grants, or travel, among many others.
Social networks and an information panel, which they keep updated each week in their respective centers, are the main tools of the correspondents who work in coordination with the Department of Youth.
The correspondents of San Javier recently participated in a regional meeting in which former correspondents share their experience with young people who are now joining the program, in addition to working on issues such as gender violence from the adolescent perspective.
Alba Vivancos, an experienced correspondent in San Javier, highlighted the fact that the Administration is counting on us, not only to disseminate the information, but also to contribute ideas and demands from the young people that are later reflected in the organization of activities.
Alba was accompanied by Noelia Vidal and María Martínez who repeat in the program with Joaquín Boj who joined this year and who defended the "decentralization" of the information so that it reaches directly to the largest possible number of young people.
