Schools, associations and entities of the municipality have participated today a massive tree plantation in the park Cabo Huertas, located next to the street of the same name, in a symbolic act with which we want to raise awareness among young and old of the importance of trees in our parks, said the Councilor for Parks and Gardens María Dolores Ruiz.
Kevin Mancojo, the flamenco Youth of the Year of the Region of Murcia planted the first of the trees that will bear the names of the entities that have come this morning as the Council of Youth, the CEIP Severo Ochoa, Remembrance and Fulgencio Ruiz, the centers Senior citizens of San Javier and Santiago de la Ribera, the weather bank, the group of youth correspondents, the Fundación Secretariado Gitano and the students of the mixed program of formation and employment of Youth Animation.
The mayor of Parks and Gardens María Dolores Ruiz explained the plantation today is part of a total of a global action that will involve the planting of 400 new trees in other parks and public spaces where required.
Ruiz announced that next December 27th, the new Jabalina park will be inaugurated, next to the street of the same name, in San Javier, with an appointment of the animation program "In your park or in mine".
The Javelina Park has 500 square meters of fenced rubber with attractive games and the first specific games for people with disabilities installed in the municipality.
During the activity that will be a Christmas theme, a bicycle will be raffled coinciding with the end of the year among children who have at least eight assistances to the activity that is celebrated monthly.
In the same act the councilman of Agriculture Sergio Martinez presented a campaign of collection of pruning, which has as main objective to dissuade to the professionals of the sector of the utilization of the containers of picking of pruning that are of exclusive use for individuals.
The campaign tries to raise awareness on the one hand professionals and also individuals about the proper use of these containers by depositing the prunings inside it.
Currently there are 30 containers distributed in strategic points of the municipality that are periodically collected by a specialized company that transports them to the municipal waste center where they are crushed and reused as cattle.
