The Association of Autistic Disorders of the Region of Murcia (Asteamur) today received a donation of 2000 euros that was delivered to the City of San Javier by the commercial and marketing director of the company Ricardo Fuentes Salazones, José María Donate, from from the sale of the tuna that was used to demonstrate the ronqueo during the "Mi Mar Menor de Salazón" days, held in September 2017 in San Javier.
The president of Asteamur, Nani Martinez de Haro was in charge of receiving the check of the collection obtained by the sale of the tuna in an act that was attended by the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Environment, Javier Celdrán and the mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo, who confirmed the celebration of a new edition of the gastronomic days around salting, during 2018 in San Javier.
The restaurant chain Enso Sushi was the one that finally was made with the bluefin tuna ceded by Ricardo Fuentes e Hijos for the realization of an exhibition of the traditional cutting of the bluefin tuna, which was witnessed by thousands of people in the Plaza de España in San Javier .
The ronqueo of the tuna was part of a wide program of activities that had the salted fish of the Mar Menor as protagonists.
The days, organized by the Ministry and the City of San Javier, with the participation of companies in the sector, were the culmination of a cultural program organized by the City of San Javier to disseminate and value the existing casings and salt mills in La Manga del Mar Menor, the mayor of San Javier recalled José Miguel Luengo who hoped to repeat the success of the first edition in 2018.
The counselor Javier Celdrán pointed out the importance of promoting their own gastronomy as a differentiating tourist attraction and highlighted the success of the collaboration formula between the administrations and the private sector together with a beneficial component that is expected to be repeated in an upcoming edition whose date will be announced coming soon.
