The National Association of Civil Guard "Marqués de las Amarillas" today appointed Honorary Member to the City of San Javier during the act of Homage to the Victims of the Armed Forces and State Security and Private Security Bodies that was held this morning in Santiago de la Ribera convened by the aforementioned association.
The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo thanked the president for his distinction Blanca Echazarreta and praised the work developed by the Association "so that no death from terrorism is forgotten."
The acts that counted on the presence of the president of the Regional Assembly, Rosa Peñalver and a wide political representation and of the Armed Forces of the Region of Murcia began with a mass in honor of the victims in the church of Santiago from where the assistants They moved, accompanied by veteran legionaries from the region to the civic center "Prince of Asturias", where a monolith was discovered in memory of the victims of terrorism.
The National Association of Civil Guards "Marques de las Amarillas" took advantage of the occasion to present their distinctions, among which the posthumous delivery of the Grand Cross of Caballero de Santiago to National Police Lieutenant José Miñano, who died late six months after suffering for years the aftermath of a terrorist attack of which he was a victim in Vitoria in 1982, which was collected by his wife and daughter, Remedios Miñano, delegate of the Association of Victims of Terrorism in the Region of Murcia.
The Symphonic Band of San Javier put the music to the delivery of distinctions held in the auditorium of the center "Prince of Asturias" in which the association "Marqués de las Amarillas" distinguished the chief colonels of the General Air Academy of San Javier, Miguel Ivorra and the Secondary Air Base Francisco Javier Fernández as well as the Águila and Papea acrobatic patrols.
